San Jose del Cabo was our first marina visit since Ensenada. The marina is the most expensive place we have stayed in Mexico at over $100 per day, but our first visitor (Charles’ mother Jude) was flying in and we wanted an easy start to her trip!
The visit was wonderful, but started off with both Charles and I getting sick. I got it first – bad the first day of Jude’s visit, worst her second day, and then starting to recover in time for sailing. Charles started feeling ill as we left the dock, and had his worst days under way towards La Paz.
I was disappointed to miss San Jose del Cabo, as I legitimately never got further than Burritos El Sacrificio, but apparently there was not too much to miss. The town square was cute, but touristy and quiet.
Favorite places to eat near the marina:

We stayed in a 60 foot slip.

Notes for boaters:

  • Excellently maintained docks. Bathrooms are in fantastic condition.
  • Water is pre-filtered and drinkable from the dock spigots (reported to us by a Genentech retiree who tested water samples). We filtered it anyway and it was perfect.
  • Walking distance from several restaurants.
