Current Status

The Nastyness (Chaz’s bike)

All systems working ideally. June 2020 replaced cassette and chain. April 2022 replaced a bent/crushed seat post.

UltraViolet (Nora’s bike)

Operating perfectly but has some minor damage. June 2020 replaced cassette and chain. July 2020 replaced two screws holding C965 display to handlebars. The plastic cover of the down/minus button on the controller is damaged but remains sufficiently operable after a makeshift electrical tape fix. The mount for the magnetic speed sensor was damaged and replaced in April of 2022.

48v Batteries

We currently have three hialong-style down-tube batteries that we use in rotation on both bikes. Two are 12Ah batteries that came with the motor kits. The third is a 17Ah purchased from UPP. We started experimenting with solar charging in January 2020, and have been 100% charged by the sun since March 2020.
